iQiosk Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 November 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Moein Samarehshafiei, the operator of iQiosk ("we", "us"). iQiosk is a Chrome extension and backend service that shows a personalised news feed. By using iQiosk, or by buying a Pro subscription, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
iQiosk has two plans:
- Free: news stories from the categories you pick, refreshed twice a day. No payment is needed.
- Pro: a paid subscription that lets you describe your own feed with a custom prompt, get a daily digest at a time you choose, get summaries in your language, and keep your settings in sync across devices.
We may change, add or remove features, and we may adjust limits (such as rate limits) to keep the service reliable and fair. We will not remove a paid feature during a billing period without offering you a remedy, such as a refund of the unused part of that period.
2. Your account
You can use the Free plan with an anonymous guest account that is created automatically. To subscribe to Pro you must create an email account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live (or have a parent or guardian do so for you) in order to buy Pro. Details about the data we handle are in the Privacy Policy.
3. Pro subscriptions and payment
- Merchant of record. Our reseller and merchant of record is Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates). Paddle sells Pro to you, takes payment, collects and pays sales tax and VAT, and sends your receipt. Your purchase is also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms. If these terms conflict with the Paddle Buyer Terms about payment, tax, billing or refunds, the Paddle Buyer Terms apply to that matter. Pro may appear on your receipt and bank statement as "iQiosk Pro" or with the name Paddle.
- Price. The monthly and yearly prices, in your currency and including any tax, are shown at checkout before you pay. Prices may differ by country because of currency and tax.
- Automatic renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, whichever you chose) and your payment method is charged until you cancel. If a payment fails, Paddle may retry it, and Pro may end if it cannot be collected.
- Price changes. If the price of your subscription changes, Paddle will tell you first, and where the law requires it, ask for your consent. If you do not accept the new price, you can cancel and Pro will end when your current period ends.
- Taxes. Paddle adds the tax that applies to your country. Businesses can contact Paddle to have tax handled using a valid tax ID.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time. In the extension open the Plan page and choose Manage subscription, or use the "Manage subscription" link in your Paddle receipt email, or go to paddle.net. Cancelling stops future charges. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, and then your account returns to the Free plan. Cancelling does not refund the current period; see the Refund Policy.
If you delete your account in the extension, your Pro subscription is cancelled immediately and Pro access ends right away. Deleting your account does not by itself refund any payment.
5. Refunds
Our Refund Policy is part of these terms. It does not limit any rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
6. AI-generated content
Pro stories are produced with the help of AI models and web search. Free stories are also collected and summarised with AI. AI can make mistakes, miss context, or summarise a source badly. Stories link to third-party sources that we do not own or control. The news is for general information only; it is not professional, financial, legal or medical advice. Check the original source before relying on a story.
When you write a custom prompt, it is sent to our backend and to an AI provider, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not put secrets or other people's personal data in a prompt.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or use prompts to produce unlawful, hateful or harmful content;
- try to get around plan limits, rate limits or security measures, for example by faking requests, sharing access tokens, or sending automated traffic to our backend;
- copy, resell or publicly redistribute the stories or the service in bulk;
- probe, attack, overload or reverse engineer the service, except where the law allows it;
- use someone else's payment method without permission, or abuse the refund process.
If you break these rules, we may limit or suspend your access, or close your account. If we close a paid account because we chose to, and not because you broke the rules, we will refund the unused part of your current billing period.
8. Our rights and yours
iQiosk, its code, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension and the service for your own use while these terms are in force. The prompts and settings you enter remain yours; you give us permission to process them only to provide the service to you. News stories and their sources belong to their respective publishers, and we show short summaries with links back to the original.
9. Third-party content and copyright
iQiosk shows short, AI-written summaries of news published by third parties. Each story names its source and links to the original, and is meant to point you to that source, not to replace it. We do not claim to own the articles, names, logos or trademarks of the publishers; they belong to their owners and are used only to identify the source. You may read the summaries for your own use, and you must read the original under the publisher's own terms. Sections 7 and 8 also apply.
You must have the right to use anything you put into a custom prompt, and you must not use a prompt to make iQiosk copy or reproduce a publisher's full articles, or to get around a paywall or access control.
If you are a copyright owner, or act for one, and you believe a story shown in iQiosk infringes your rights, or you want your site removed as a source, email msamarehshafeei@gmail.com with: the work you say is infringed; the story or link in iQiosk you are complaining about; your name and contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, the owner's agent or the law; and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them. We review notices promptly, and may remove the story or stop using the source. We may close the account of a user who repeatedly infringes others' rights.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep iQiosk available, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error free. It depends on third parties such as Google (Chrome and Firebase), Paddle, our hosting provider and AI providers. We may stop offering the service; if we do, we will give notice where we can and refund the unused part of any prepaid Pro period.
11. Disclaimers and limits of liability
The Free plan is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not give any warranty about accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you for anything relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim (or, if you never paid, zero).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your mandatory consumer rights, such as the right to a service that matches its description. If you live in the EU, the UK or another place with consumer protection laws, those rights continue to apply.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add a feature or the law changes. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for a material change that affects a paid plan, tell Pro subscribers by email or in the extension. If you keep using iQiosk after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel Pro and stop using the service. The terms that applied when you paid for a period continue to apply to that period.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the place where the operator of iQiosk is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country if those laws allow it. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms, your subscription or a refund request: msamarehshafeei@gmail.com. For payment and billing questions you can also contact Paddle at paddle.net.
